mark elrod
Mark R. Elrod is owner and president of Marchmaster¸Inc. and is the sales representative for Fruhauf Uniforms in Georgia and South Carolina. Prior to pursuing these interests in 2004, he taught instrumental music for twenty years where he instructed bands on the elementary, middle school and high school level. Mark served as the director of bands at Central-Carroll HS (GA), Sandy Creek HS (GA) and Midfield HS (AL). He also held positions at Rising Starr MS (GA) and Lakeview MS (GA). His concert bands received consistent superior ratings in district and state festivals performing music in all levels, II through VI. Mark has served as a guest conductor as well as a performer at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic.
Mark’s bands also performed for many prestigious events including the 1998 New Year’s Day Parade in London, England, and the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. He has served as an adjudicator for concert and marching band events throughout the southeastern United States and in Europe.
Mark is a member of numerous professional organizations and has held positions of leadership in many of these, including the Georgia Music Educators Association in which he has served as a member of the state band council. He is a member of the National Band Association and has served as the chairperson for the Georgia chapter and is also a member of NAfME, ODK National Leadership Honor Society, KDE Honorary Education Society and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. As a member of Phi Mu Alpha, Mark served on the National Council and as Collegiate Province Representative.
Mark received his degree in music education from Jacksonville State University (AL) and a graduate degree in music education from the University of West Georgia. Mark is originally from Demorest, Georgia and currently resides in Dahlonega, Georgia with his wife Lillie. He has one daughter, Kristen of Nashville TN, and one step son, Charles of Asheville NC.
